The hope for all Washington Bible College/Capital Bible Seminary students is to see them thrive, grow, and enjoy their time with us. In order to accomplish this, there are a variety of events planned to help students develop strong relationships and to reach out to other people.

When becoming a part of the College/Seminary community, all new students are required to take part in Orientation/Registration.  Information for the Spring 2009 Orientation/Registration will soon be posted.

Vision:

We love you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us. (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

At WBC/CBS, the vision for mentoring is to glorify God through sharing life together.  Your mentor comes alongside you in order to help you transition successfully into WBC/CBS.  This includes a joint partnership aimed at encouraging successful navigation of the higher education community and spiritual growth through your experience at WBC/CBS.

Who are mentors?

Mentors are WBC upperclassmen, CBS students, and alumni of the institution.  They have demonstrated Christian character and academic success.  Mentors are current students in and graduates of various concentrations and include residential, commuter, traditional-aged, and non-traditional students and alumni.  They are student whose experiences equip them to assist newer students.

What do mentors do?

A mentor walks alongside another student, helping in his or her development as a student and as a disciple of Christ.  The mentor/mentee relationship is not a counseling or academic advising relationship.  Rather, the mentor welcomes opportunities to help you reach your God-given potential through various means, including support, challenge, and encouragment.

Who can be assigned a mentor?

Currently, first year students have priority in obtaining a mentor.  However, any student who desires a mentor is welcome to apply, and will be considered, if mentors are available.  You can visit or contact the Office of Student Life and Development (ext. 1236) regarding questions or to complete an application.
