president's greeting to alumni
Greetings in Christ!
I trust you are weathering the storms the Lord has been allowing to blow your way in recent weeks. Whether earthquake, hurricane, tropical storm, floods, or personal health and relationship challenges, God is still on the throne! I trust that the grounding you received in the Word of God during your year(s) at Washington Bible College and Capital Bible Seminary is still keeping you anchored through recent storms. Our Lord Jesus promised "heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away (Matt 24:35)." Please keep praying for current students as they receive "by the Book" education here and keep walking in the light of God's marvelous revelation (Psalm 119:105).
His servant and yours,
Dr. George Harton, President
2 Cor. 4:5

2011 ALUMNI of the YEAR
WBC AWARD – Susan Tyler (WBC '66)
When Susan graduated from WBC, her desire was to serve God through international missions, but God opened the door for her to work with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). There she discovered an unreached people group who had not yet heard the Gospel—preschoolers here in the United States. To meet this need, Susan wrote the book, Teaching Little Kids , which explains how to communicate God’s message to pre-readers. Today she continues to work with CEF training adults around the world on how to reach children for Christ.
CBS AWARD – Timothy Webster (WBC, '85; CBS, '87)
Tim has known that he wanted to be a pastor since the age of five. He has been a pastor since his seminary graduation. As pastor of Uniontown Bible Church in MD, Tim continues to serve his Lord, even after the death of his wife, with humility and submission. His leadership, dedication, and fervent commitment to the Lord are evident every day. He does not take his calling lightly. He is a man who seeks to do only what the Lord would have him do. Tim has learned that tough times measure who you are. He will tell you, "Make sure you have a theology that is BIG enough to include a God who is good—a God who loves you; and the reality that life hurts and pain and suffering DO happen to good people."
