SPH 101 Public Speaking (3) Fall/Spring
Prerequisite: ENG 121 English Composition I
A study of effective speaking to an audience, platform poise, and clearness of expression. Emphasized are the informative, persuasive, and hortatory modes of speech. The course objective is to communicate any message clearly and effectively to a broad spectrum of audiences via several media. Teacher education students must earn a minimum grade of “B.”
SPH 211 Drama Production (1)
An introduction to the basics of drama production with participation in the spring play. Students will participate in the spring play as either actors or support crew. Preparation for the play begins in the fall and will require time outside of normal class hours.
