PHI 221 Introduction to Philosophy (3) Spring
An exploration of some of the major ideas foundational to Western philosophy such as God, man, love, justice, freedom, time, and language. Students will focus on comparing and contrasting the philosophical principles inherent in differing worldviews as preparation for developing a sound Biblical apologetic.
PHI 251 Logic (3)
Prerequisites: ENG 121 English Composition I
An introductory study of the science of argument, including both formal and informal logic. Students will explore categorical propositions, syllogisms, fallacies, truth tables, the square of opposition, and rules for inductive arguments for the purpose of improving their own argumentative writing and for recognizing errors in the arguments of others. Textual examples will be from the Bible as well as academic and journalistic sources.
