RS 400 Writing Seminar (no credit)
New Seminary students are required to take a writing assessment before the time of their initial registration. Those who are determined from the assessment to need assistance with writing in order to be successful in their degree programs will be required to take the RS 400 Writing Seminar (non-degree credit course). This course will review the technical aspects of constructing effective sentences and paragraphs along with the principles of academic writing. It will give students practice in the types of writing required in Seminary courses.
RS 601 Methods of Biblical Research (2)
Prerequisite: GK 501-2
Each student is exposed to the primary exegetical tools used in original biblical research, with evaluation of selected secondary literature in the field. Consideration is given to methods of research with stress on the nature of evidence and proper procedures of documentation. Attention is given to acceptable style and format for scholarly writing. Several shorter papers are required. You must use the CBS Manual for Papers and Theses for this course.
RS 813 ThM Thesis I (3)
Each student is required to write a thesis as an academic requirement for the Master of Theology degree under the supervision of an advisor. The thesis climaxes the student's biblical study program and provides an opportunity for the student to use the tools of biblical interpretation. You must use the CBS Manual for Papers and Theses for this course.
RS 814 ThM Thesis II (3)
Prerequisite: RS 813
Continuation of RS 813 ThM Thesis I.
Each student is required to write a thesis as an academic requirement for the Master of Theology degree under the supervision of an advisor.
